Your Home Protection Plus plan is designed for repairs, including furnace repairs. However, some furnaces — especially older ones — can’t be repaired due to age or safety concerns, and your current plan does not cover replacement. If you had the GreenBacks CashSM add-on in addition to your plan, you could receive $750 toward the purchase of a new furnace if repairs weren't possible. But with the Furnace Replacement Option add-on, you’ll get a brand-new furnace, professionally installed, including parts, labor, and permits. This makes replacing your furnace easier, less stressful, and much more affordable.

Coverage for the Furnace Replacement Option begins 90 days after enrollment.

This option is only available to Home Protection Plus customers whose current plan includes repair coverage for a furnace.

The program covers only the repair or replacement of natural gas furnaces by DTE. The program does not cover the following:

• Heat pumps, electric furnaces, boilers or homes with baseboard heating
• Gravity-fed furnaces
• Chimney liners if your home doesn’t already have one
• Removal of asbestoste
• Extensive sheet metal work for new ducting systems
• Upgrades to ultra-high-efficiency furnace models
• Specific furnace models requested by the homeowner
